Muir, until recently admitting officer at the Auckland Hospital, left Auckland yesterday f or Rotorua. Mr. Ernest Davis, Mayor of Auckland, left for Rotorua by train jesterday morning. He expects to return to the city this evening. Mr. J. W. Graham, of Christchurch, is visiting Auckland for the New Zealand Rotary District Conference. He ii at the Central Hotel. Mr. J. E- Campbell, Mayor of Hawera, will leave Port Chalmers today by the Narbada for Calcutta, with Mrs. Campbell, for a two months' tour of India. Messrs'. J. M. Elliffe, .A. M. Seaman and E. D. Wilkinson left by the limited express last evening on their way to Christchurch to attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Flying-Officer D. W. Morrish, R.A.F.0., who recently returned to his home in Whangarei after completing five years' service on the active list of the Royal Air Force in England, wifj leave again for England on the Strathnaver. He sails from Auckland on March 17 by the Niagara. Superintendent J. J. Salmon, of the Dunedin City Fire Brigade, will retire on February 29 after 46 years' service j-with the brigade, and over 50 years' service as a fire fighter. He was appointed deputy-superintendent in 1908, and superintendent in June, 1929. Mr. Salmon, who will be succeeded by Deputy-Superintendent R. H. Price, will leave Dunedin on March 5 on an extended holiday visit to Hastings and Auckland.
