CAMBRIDGE JUBILEE

PROCLAMATION OF BOROUGH » CELEBRATIONS IN AUGUST [FROM, OUK OWN correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Saturday Cambridge will celebrate tho 50th anniversary of its proclamation as a borough on August 19 next. The question of a fitting observance of the occasion was discussed at the last meeting of the Borough Council, and it was decided to hold a special meeting to make preparatory arrangements. It ;was suggested that the celebrations should cover a week and include a reunion of old settlers of the district. The town clerk, Mr. F. T. Ray, was instructed to secure as much data as possible before calling tho meeting. The proclamation of tho borough in 1886 was made by Sir William Jcrvois, who was then Governor of New Zealand.
