GARDEN PARTY

CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE The picturesque garden of Mrs. T. J. Buxton in Owens Road, Epsom, was the scene of a party on Saturday afternoon, held under the auspices of the Catholic Women's League. The proceeds will be devoted to the fund beirig raised to furnish a room at the Mater Miserieordiae Hospital. Bathed in brilliant sunshine, the garden jjresented a bright scene with gay flowerbeds and multi-coloured umbrellas. Stalls, displaying a varied assortment of articles, were arranged in the garden, while a marquee, where tea was served, did excellent business. A display of eurhythmies by pupils of Miss Daphne Knight was. watched with interest, while games, competitions and a fishing pond were a source of delight to the children. On arrival the guests were received by Mrs. M. Pilling, president of the Catholic Women's League, and by Mrs. Buxton, vice-president. The following were in charge of the stalls:—Refreshments, Mrs. M. Main, Mrs. C. Stitchhury, Mrs. McGill, Mrs. Frost, Mrs. Temm, Mrs. Hanfiing, Miss Stitch bury, Miss Deriham, Miss Treston, Miss Tinline, Miss B. O'Brien and Miss F. Lytton; sweets, Mrs. Fleming, Mrs. Cook. Mrs. Bunn, Mrs. Delanev, Mrs. 0. Kelly, Miss Delaney and Miss W. Cook (convener); cakes, Mrs. R. Cruickshank, Mrs. Hugh Wright, Mrs. D. Tolo, Mrs. K. Keating and Miss N. Wright; produce, Mrs. Hamilton Smith, Mrs. D. P. O'Learv, Miss M. Kerr and Miss D. Ryan; jumble, Mrs. Gutteridge, Mrs. McLennan, Mrs. Woon. Miss M. Lloyd, Miss H. Reardon and Miss A. Mulvany; ice cream. Mrs. W. Keinble, Mrs. M. Dunne and Miss P. Flynn; competitions, Mrs. Coleman. Mrs. .T. Buxton, Miss M. Cairns and Miss J. Mulvany; fishing pond, Mrs. K. Garland and Miss P. Garland.
