MISSIONARY AUXILIARY

To inaugurate the year's work of the Mount Eden branch of the Auckland Methodist Women's Missionary Auxiliary, Mrs. A. Armitage, the president, invited members and friends to a social afternoon in the Gordon Road Hall. After welcoming the guests, Mrs. Armitage spoke briefly on the urgent needs of the mission work. In response to her appeal 10 new members were enrolled. A programme of musical and elocutionary items was contributed as follows:—Vocal solos, by Mrs. Owen and Mrs. Kirkup ; vocal duet, by the Misses Edna Mather and Gladys Brooke; recitations by Mrs. Pool. A social hour, during which afternoon tea was dispensed. brought to a conclusion a successful function.
