LOSS BY FIRE
MOTOR-CAR AND GEAR DESTRUCTION OF GARAGE [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA. Sunday Considerable loss was suffered by Mr. W. G. Barclay, builder, of Longfellc* Street, Te Aroha, when a fire brokfl out in his garage and toolslied about one o'clock this morning, resulting in the. destruction of a five-seater motorcar heavily laden with valuable fishing rods and camping gear. In addition, the shed contained a large quantity of timber and tools. • When the fire was discovered* the garage and contents were burning fiercely and the flames had spread to a corner of the house. The Te Aroha brigade arrived in time to save all bub one corner of the house.
OUTBREAK AT MOUNT ALBERT OCCUPANTS OF HOUSE ABSENT During the absence of the occupant# at the Western Springs speedway, a about eight o'clock on Saturday nig > fire broke out in a six-roomed house a 15 Springfield Hoad, .Mount Albert, occupied by Mr. J. Preston, the break started in a bedroom and sp <_ to the hall, and had a good hold bet the alarm was given. The bedroom > gutted and the hall was damage heat and smoke.
