WEATHER AT WEEK-END EARLY MORNING DOWNPOUR Rain at the week-end increased the month's fall to nine inches for 23 daysThe rain was only light on Saturday, during the early morning and evening, but early yesterday morning torrential rain fell for about three hours, causing gutters and drains to overflow. Takapuna racecourse was flooded, but no serious flooding is reported to have occurred eslewhere. From 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. yesterday the rainfall recorded by the Heeald gauge was .6oin., but the fall was much heavier in some of the suburbs. After the rain ceased hot w sunny weather prevailed all da.vT Although February is normally a fairly dry month, with an average rainfall of 3.31 in., during the past four years the fall for the month has beefl over twice' the average. Last February the rainfall was 9.62iu., and ia the previous February was S.l7in. The rainfall in February, 1933, was 7.75 in. and in 1932 the fall for February was 7.51 in.
