At Pioplo there was a small yarding of sheep, consisting of wethers and store lambs. There was ready demand for all lines offered and a total clearance was made. A few odd lines of cattle were penned and these sold at recent ruling rates. At Te Kuiti sheep came forward in excess of the advertised numbers, a good entry of wethers, ewes and lambs being yarded. There was a good attendance of local and outside buyers and practically everything was cleared at auction. HEAVY YARDINGS AT OPOTIKI [from our own correspondent] _ OPOTIKI. Saturday Dalgety and Compaay, Limited, report* having held a sale at (Jpotiki on Thursday, when the largest offering of cattle penned for many years was yarded. Competition was keen and sustained throughout, and practically the entire yarding changed hands at prices in excess of vendors' reserves. Well-bred station cattle in particular were the subject of exceptionally keen competition, and a satisfactory sale resulted. Over an average yarding of sheep w'ks penned, and iu this section also a total clearance was made. A good offeiiug of pigs sold at current rates.
