CURRENCY EXPERIMENTS
SURPRISE IN ENGLAND "It is surprising to find the majority of New Zealanders voting in such a way as to suggest' their readiness to experiment with currency," says an English manufacturer in a letter to an Auckland irriend received yesterday.
''The same applies to 'the Province of Alberta in Canada, and one can only assume that it is the great distance between these peoples and the centres of the world of finance, and their consequent lack of touch with matters financial and all that they involve, which makes them think that there must still he some untried quicker methods of improving their standard of lining and increasing their prosperity than have so far been evident to the world's financial experts. "I sincerely trust that the experiment may be a very mild one and that neither the credit nor prosperity of New Zealand will suffer."
