WAIKATO INTERESTS
DANCE AND WHIST DRIVE A dance was given by members of the Hamilton Amateur Athletic Club last night in the Regent Ballroom, Hamilton, for Miss Ida Campbell, who has been selected as the sole lady runner to represent the Auckland Province at the iNew Zealand athletic championships in Dunedin next week. The president of the club, Mr. A. H. Malcolm, introduced Miss Campbell. On behalf of those present he congratulated her on her fine performances in the past, and expressed wishes for her success in her visit to the South. Miss Campbell thanked the club' for its good wishes The annual dance of the PukemiroGlon Afton Swimming Club attracted a large attendance, visitors being present from Huntly, Ngaruawahia, Waingaro and surrounding districts. A whist drivt: was held in conjunction with tho dance. The winners of whist wero Mrs. Hilljier and Mrs. Robinson; consolation, Mrs. Glendenning and Mr. Wilson.
The weekly whist drive under the auspices of the Pukemiro Anglican Ladies' Guild was won by Mr. T. Kerr and Mrs. Fleming. The consolation was won by Mr A. Robinson. Mrs A. G. Waddell, of Hamilton, is visiting Christchurch. ' Mrs. L. M. Squire, of Hamilton, has left for Christchurch.
Mrs. C. L. MacDiarmid, of Hamilton, has returned from a brief visit to Auckland.
