AUCKLAND HOME SERVICE

HOLIDAY PERIOD REPORT The monthly meeting of the Auckland Home Service Association was held in the Y.W.C.A. building yesterday. The president, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, prosided. A satisfactory report for the holiday period was given by the manager, Mrs. Stewart Masson, who said that in spite Of a shortage of experienced and capable Workers, many positions, offering wages much in advance of standard rates, were filled. A number of urgent calls for short-time help from North Auckland to Coromandol Peninsula and Whakatane, proved tho widespread activities of the association. New departures included darners and household linen and fine lace menders. Tho manager had also offered to do shopping and other business for country clients. Letters of appreciation wero received from all parts of the Auckland Province.
