GALLANT RESCUES

Jman and wife in surf " —— [FROM OUR OWN correspondent] SYDNEY, Feb. 14 Two gallant rescues were made in the surf at Park Beach by members of the Coff's Harbour Surf Club when Mr. and Mrs. Henry, visitors from Gunnedah, got into difficulties the other day. O. Bastian swam to their assistance and supported Mrs. Henry until Noel Cameron', a member of the beach patrol, swam out, after dragging a heavy line through seaweed for 200 yards. Cameron took Mts. Henry to the beach. In the meantime Mr. Henry was carried further out, and without pausing Cameron again swam out to the rescue. Mr. Henry was on the point of exhaustion and took more than half an hou,r ; to recover. Sharks had been seen earlier in the afternoon near where the rescues were made.'
