Jan. 25 Possall School, near Fleetwood, Lancashire, will'this term probably be the first' public school at which practical " instruction in aeronautics'will be given to the boys, with a full-sized aeroplane permanently housed on the school
premises. The scholars assembled for the Lent term during last week-end. and they found that the aeroplane, promised bv the War Offiee a short time ago, had arrived. The school's biggest racquet court is being used as its hangar. The machine, which is an Armstrong-Whit-worth Atlas biplane, is of a type used for observation purposes, and communication cart be maintained with other aeroplanes in the air and also with the ground staff.
A series of lectures by various experts in the construction and flying of aircraft are now being arranged and a big percentage of the boys at the school who are interested in flying will receive instruction with the object of taking up an aeronautical career.
