NATIVE LIFE IN FIJI
An account of native life in Fiji was given by Miss Inez Hames, of the teaching staff of tho Davuilevu Methodist Training Institution, Fiji, when slio conducted a recent morning service in tho Paparoa Mothodist Church. Tho speaker described tho transformation wrought during tho past century in tho conversion of the savago South Sea Islanders from heathenism and cannibalism to Christian living and practice. She emphasised tho fact that tho work being done now in the schools, training institutions and agricultural farms, in teaching tho natives, was of vital importance. It was essential, sho said, that they should have practical instruction in the laws of health, sanitation, hygieno and in useful work for the occupation of their time.
