WAIKATO FUNCTIONS
* TENNIS CLUB'S DANCE
Organised by the committee of the Tatuanui Tennis Club, a dance was held in the hall recently. There was a large attendance and the function was a most successful one. The committee comprised Mrs. C. Sing, Mrs. F. ,J. Shirley, Mrs. L. Kirk, Mrs. L. Woodley, Miss W. Nola and Mr. A. Wratt, Mr. G. Hall. Mr. E. Nola and Mr. R. Shirley, Among those present were: —Miss E. Arndt, Miss M. Arndt, Miss B. Colson, Miss A. Clements, Miss K. Casey, Miss J. Casey, Miss G. Clark, Miss V M- Darrall, Miss C. Davies, Miss J. Uavies, Miss H. Dey, Miss A. Gill, Miss C. Greenlees, Miss R. George, Miss V. Hetherington, Miss G. Hill, Miss B. Hutchinson, Miss E. Inglis, Miss D. Jackson, Miss M. Jones, Miss J. Kirk, Miss G. Wratt, Miss M. Middlemiss, Miss P. Mueller, Miss G. Nelson, Miss M. Owens,—Miss G. Pekin, Miss J. Radovich, Miss E. Reynolds, Miss N. Pentecost, Miss K. Smith, Miss T. Smith, Miss 1. Shirley, Miss K. Williams, Miss D. Wilson, Miss M. Watt and Miss W. Nola. Red and gold streamers and greenery made a bright and appropriate decorative setting at the Tauwhare Hall recently, when a social evening was given by Matangi's younger hunting members for Miss Merle Chesterman and Mr. Ned Brown, whose marriage will take place on Thursday. During the evening a presentation was made to Mr. Brown by Mr. T. Wells, on behalf of those present. Miss P. Ranstead, who received the guests, wore a frock of apple green crepe soie. Miss Chesterman's frock was of floral ninon.
