ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

COLONEL SLEEMAN'S TOUR CIVIC RECEPTION TO-DAY The chief commissioner of the St. John. Ambulance Brigade Overseas, Colonel J. L. Sloeman, will be accorded a civic reception by the deputy-mayor of Auckland, Mr. B. Martin, at noon to-day. He was a guest at tho luncheon of the Auckland Rotary Club yesterday, and in the afternoon he inspected ambulance headquarters in Rutland Stret. He spoke in the highest terms of tho equipment at the station and mentioned in particular the ambulances themselves. Waikato divisions will be inspected by Colonel Sleeman at Hamilton on Thursday. He will visit the Evelyn Firth Home at Parnell on Friday morning, and in the evening he will bo tho guest of honour at a reception at the Lyceum Club. There will be a parade and inspection of Auckland divisions on Saturday, and on Sunday Colonel Sleeman will travel to Whangarei. Ho will visit the Whangarei High School next Monday, and will also be in Dargaville the samo (jay. On his return to Auckland, Colonel Sleeman will probably visit tbe Auckland Hospital and the Queen Victoria School for Maori girls next Tuesday. He will sail for Sydney by the Wanganella on February 29.
