HEAD-ON COLLISION
SIX PERSONS INJURED MISHAP AT TUAKAU [BY TELEGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TUAKAU. Sunday A head-on collision between two light sedan motor-cars on a slight bend at the top of Pukekawa Hill about 6 p.m. yesterday resulted in the three occupants of one car receiving severe injuries necessitating their removal to the Auckland Hospital. Tho three occupants of the other car were less severely injured and were able to proceed home after receiving medical attention. A car owned by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Limited, and driven by an employee, Mr. Peter Weber, of Papatootoe, with Mr. Matthew B. Kirkbride and his son, of Mangere, as passengers was proceeding toward Auckland when it came into collision with a car driven by Mr, James Slater, farmer, of Pukekawa, Avho had as passengers his wife and Miss Edna Lindberg, of Pukekawa.
Tho injured persons were attended by Dr. A. T. Begg, of Pukokoho. Mr. Weber had tho left side of his face badly gashed, and Mr. Kirkbride, sen., suffered a severe gash in tho right cheek. Mr. Kirkbride, jun., suffered a broken nose, broken lower jaw and cut lip. The three men were conveyed to Paerata by Dr. Begg and later removed to hospital by St. John ambulance. The occupants of the other car suffered minor cuts, scalp injuries and concussion. None of tho injured parties is in a serious condition. Tho accident occurred at the height of the storm, which made visibility extremely poor.
