VERANDAH COLLAPSES

POST STRUCK BY CAR [by telegraph—own correspondent] WHAXGAREI, Friday The verandah of a building in Lower Hank Street, which contains the offices of Messrs. A. F. Thomson and A. R. Benjamin, collapsed this morning when one of the iron posts was snapped in two by a service car. A pedestrian had a narrow escape from injury. The service car was not damaged.
