SERVICES APPRECIATED

At the invitation of a representative gathering of the parents of the children who are patients in ward 23, (Princess Mary block), of the Auckland Hospital, " Uncle Jim " attended a meeting held there recently, and was presented with a silver-mounted tobacco pouch as a birthday gift and token of appreciation of his entertainments for, and visits to, the children. Mr. Penrose, in making the presentation on behalf of the parents, spoke appreciatively of all that he had done for the patients. In returning thanks " Uncle Jim " said that were it not for the courtesy of the staff of the hospital- his self-imposed task would not, perhaps, be so fruitful.
