AUCKLAND TRAVEL CLUB
At tho morning tea held by tho Auckland Travel Club yesterday a talk on the lifo of the Arabs was given by Madame Vernon, of Tunis. Madame Vernon dealt in particular with tho Arab marriage customs and the social position of the Arab women. Miss Noni Wright gavo a short elocutionary recital. The hostess was Mrs. Eliot Davis, and on her behalf the director, Mrs. Victor Macky, welcomed the overseas and out-of-town guests. These included Mrs. M. Phillips and Miss Eileen Phillips (London), Mrs. C Rockley (Thames), Miss Leota Johnston (Honolulu), Mrs. Arthur L. Menhinick (United States), Mrs. McNeil and Mrs. Owen (Sydney), Madame Marsi (Vienna), Miss Kathleen Ward. Miss D. Mooro and Mrs. N. E. Hutchings (Wellington), Miss Alice Pratt (Dannevirke), Mrs. A. McCarthy (Invercargill), and Mrs. Murrey (Hawera).
