MILK BELOW STANDARD
FINES IMPOSED ON VENDOR The sale at St. Heliers of milk which failed to stand up to the reductase tost for the requisite period, and which had low butter-fat content, was admitted 'by Thomas Beaghan in the Magistrate's Court yesterday Mr. Kealy, who appeared for defendant, said great difficulty waß always found in maintaining the standard for milk at tho present reason. Defendant bought the milk from a farmer. Tlip sain pip "complained of was taken from well down in the can, and it was probable that through insufficient sirring, tho lirst milk sold had been moro creamy, thus reducing the butter-fat content of tho remainder. Tho magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, imposed a fine of 40s and costs,on each count.
