Mrs. 0. M. Coverdale, of Te Kawa, is visiting North Auckland. Miss Edith Lyttelton will leave to-day by the Wanganella for Sydney. Mrs. E. J. Thompson, of Masterton, is at Mon Desir Hotel, Takapuna. Miss Doris Field Porter, of Remuera, has returned from a visit to Paihia. Miss Betty McLellan has returned to Auckland' from a holiday visit to Wellington. Mrs. F. V. Pilling (Morrinsville), and Mrs. W. N. Tangye (Piako), are at the Hotel Cargen. Mrs. F. Fitcliett has returned from Murray's Bay, where she had been staying for some time. Mrs. N. J. Campbell, of Birkenhead, will leave by the Wanganella to-day on a visit to Melbourne. Mrs. A. Wells (Melbourne), Miss Colless (Sydney), and Miss Pam Barton (London), are at the Grand Hotel. Miss Dorothy Clarke, the South African singer, who has been staying at Glenalvon, has left for Christchurch. i Mrs. Devcrell and Mrs. G. A. Mune, of Ktimeu, and Airs. Marsack, of Palmerston North, are at the Royal Hotel. Miss Anne Burnett, who has been spending a holiday at her home in Remuera, returned to Dargaville yesterday. Miss Champion and Miss Newett, of Australia, who have been staying at Glenalvon, have left on a motor tour of the Dominion. Madame Elsa Stralia and Miss Ruth Mann (Patea). Miss Gladys Moncrieff and Miss E. Wilson (Sydney), are at the Central Hotel. Mrs. Noel Adams, of Whare Kawa, Clevedon, is a passenger from England by the Rangitata, arriving in Auckland on November 20. At the Station Hotel are: —Mrs. J. Woodjin (Te Kauwhata), Mrs. C. Baker (Christchurch), Mrs. E. Firth (Rangiriri), Miss W. Merrvweather (South Africa), and Miss M. Franks (Gisborne). Mrs. M. Jacob, of Gisborne,' has returned to her home, _ Bridgend, Glamorganshire, after a visit to Isew Zealand, wrote our London correspondent on October 12. She will probably go to South America early in the coming year. Mrs. Laws, of London, who has been spending some months with her son-in-law and daughter, the Rev. A. K. Warren and Mrs. Warren, St. Mary's vicarage, Merivale, Christchurch, will leave Auckland by the Akaroa to-day on her return to England. Mrs. Frank Ha wis and Miss Babs Hawes, of Takapuna, who have been the guests of Mrs. L. Rainger, Bassett Road, Remuera, since their return from a tour of England and the Continent, have taken up their residence again at Mon Desir, Takapuna. The meeting of the mothers' club of the Young Women's Christian Association was presided over by Mrs. W. Hynes. Questions on various topics were dealt with. Owing to the illness of Mrs. Collier, the club secretary, Mrs. James Gates, was appointed to the position. Tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Yallop, Mrs. Hitchens and Mrs. Clark. The Devonport suh-branch of the Navy League held a dance last night to welcome back the men on H.M.S. Wellington and H.M.S. Leith. During the evening the Democrat candidate for Waitemata, Mr. Alan Donald, who was accompanied by Mrs. Donald, gave a short address. The committee comprised Mrs. T. H. Palmer, Mrs. M. Melvin, Mrs. A. Cleal, Mrs. I. Long, Miss M. Wyatt, Miss M. Home and Miss B. Lund.
