BLOODHOUNDS FOR SEARCHES

Sir, —In regard to bloodhounds for police work and tracking lost persons or fugitives from justice, I have made inquiries in England re the price of these hounds and was offered trained two-year-old trackers for £25 and £35 respectively. A pair of hounds with the bitch in whelp could be brought into the country for about £75. As these dogs have about 12 in a litter, the first litter should pay the cost of importation. I have tried to interest the police department, but unsuccessfully. Avondale. G. B. Skill.
