GREEK MONARCH
RETURN NOW DESIRED DELEGATES GOING TO LONDON (Received November 5, 11.35 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 5 The Daily Mail's Athens correspondent says a special delegation will come to London to-morrow to request King George to return to the throne. General Kondylis says he will resign immediately after the King's arrival, but hopes to be entrusted with the formation of a new Cabinet. After that he will recommend the dissolution of the Assembly and the proclamation of a general election. Athens was illuminated last night, when demonstrations were held and bands played. Everywhere the streets were crowded with excited Royalists singing and firing revolvers into the air.
The exiled Opposition leaders may be allowed to return shortly. General Kondylis in a speech said: "A new era has opened. There will be no more Greeks belonging to parties, but only the King's united and faithful subjects." The members of the Cabinet yesterday formallj took the oath of allegiance to King George, whose portrait hangs in all the schools.
