HIGHER LONDON FIGURES TRANSPORT BOARD'S RECEIPTS (Received November 5, 6.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, Nov. 4 The London Passenger Transport Board, which is the direct owner and operator of London's tubes, railways, omnibuses and tramways, and is identified with the suburban traffic of four main railway groups by pooling arrangements, reports that in tho year ended June 30 tho number of passengers dealt with under the pooling scheme totalled 4,129,000,000. This represented travel at tho rate of 435 journeys per annum per head of population served, which was estimated at 9,500,000 persons. In the previous year the number of journeys per head was 417. Of the 3,582,000,000 persons carried on the Transport Board's own system, 59 per cent travelled by omnibus and coach, 28 per cent on tramcars, 12 per cent on railways, and one per cent by trolley bus, Tho pooled passenger receipts for tho year totalled £39,718,000, and tho board's own share was £28,823,000.
