AORANGI'S RETURN
EXTENSIVE OVERHAUL. IMPROVED ACCOMMODATION After being laid up at Sydney for two months undergoing an extensive overhaul and the Royal Mail liner Aorangi is again in commission and will leave Sydney for Vancouver, via Auckland, Suva and Honolulu, to-morrow. She is due at Auckland on Monday. Extensive alterations have been made to the passenger accommodation, a transformation of the C deck first class accommodation having been effected. A feature of what is virtually a reconstruction of this deck has been the lessening of the ship's passenger capacity in order to allow for more spacious cabins. Formerly there were on this deck 92 cabins, providing accommodation for 192 passengers. Now there are 56 roomy cabins accommodating 91 passengers. Twenty-three of the cabins are beautifully furnished and will each accommodate two passengers. There are also 19 cabins each for one passenger, 12 special two-berth and two special one-berth rooms, each with a private bathroom.
Hot running water has been installed in all the cabins on this deck. The decorations and furnishings of the new cabins have been carried out most artistically. Large bedsteads are the fashion now and all the, rooms will contain handsome Queensland maple bedsteads.
