TOWN-COUNTRY MATCH REQUEST FROM HAWKE'S BAY REPRESENTATIVE PRACTICES The question of fixing a suitable date for the annual Town and Country match to be played at Eden Park was discussed at last evening's mooting of the management committee of the Auckland Cricket Association. Tho committee agreed that it bo a recommendation to tho selectors that December 3 and 4 be decided upon as dates for the match. Mr. W. H. Johnston wrote stating that he would be unable to mnntigo the Country Week tournament. It wan decided to ask Mr. D. V. Moore if he would undertake the management of the tourney. A request was received from the New Zealand Council that part at least of the association's gauiantoe with regard to the M.C.C. match in Auckland be >paid as soon as possible. It was agreed to leave the matter in Ihe hands of Messrs. W. U. F<;e and J. H. Watts. An invitation was received from tho Hawke's Bay Association for an Auckland representative team to visit Napier during the present season. Tho committee resolved to advise Hawke's Bay that it would be impossible to accept the fixture. The Normal School Parents' Association expressed appreciation of the expert coachinn given schoolboys by players and members of the association during the past season. The allocation of .Mr. Matthews' bat for the first century of the season w - as deferred until next meeting, by which time all teams will have taken part in the competition matches. It was suggested by several members that a better system of awarding the bat could be devised, and it was decided to confer with Mr. Matthews on the subject with the idea of having an alteration made for next Beason. The following transfers wero approved:— E. A. Matthews, North Shore to Stanley: E. W. Butler, Brogeda. to Ponsonby: W. McMinn. Technical Old Boys to Walk Away; J. A. Stevenson, North Shore to Grafton: It. H. Elie, Takapuna to Balmoral. Tho junior committee's representative, Mr. E. J. Trice, reported that the Point Chevnlier third grade team had withdrawn. Mr. 11. Duncan, speaking for the selectors, advised that representative practice would commence on next Tuesday wrek. It was also agreed that No. 1 wicket bo used for club matches as from Saturday week. The treasurer, Mr. J. H. Watts, reporting on the present position of the association's finances, stated that there was an overdraft of £125 Gs Id. The special committee set up to judge the senior fielding competition for the Grosvonor Cup announced that the various teams had Becured the following points to date out of a possible of 20: —North Shore, 17: Eden, 16: Ponsonby. 10: Grafton, 1G; Y.M.C.A.. 15: Parnell, 15; Univoisity, 11; King's Old Boys, 11.
