REPORTS OF MANAGERS Bier River (Reefton).—South atope: Stoping proceeding. Reef Sft. wide. Winzes: North winze sunk 3ft., total 30ft.; reef 3ft. wide. Centre winze sunk 3ft., total 51ft. ; broken atone in track, 3ft wide. South winze sunk sft., total 52ft.; reef 4ft. wide. North block: Bringing "P level. Advanced 6ft. Stone 3ft. wide in face., Shaft: Placing staging and bearers in position 10ft. below stoppers. The shaft at this point is in good condition. Alexander (Reefton).—No. 4 winze: This winze ha'a been sunk 21ft., making the total 27ft. below No. 4 level. The lode is 4ft. wide in the south and 2ft. wide in the north end. A considerable amount of water is making progress alow. No. 5 crosscut.: The contractors for the month have driven 121 ft., making the total 669 ft. from surface. The country passed through has been good, but carries a lot of water which retards progress. Stoping: Stopmc is being carried on with two men m >o. 4 backs. Nearly all the developed ore has been extracted, only small blocks remaining to be taken out. N
