CARGO OF WHITEBAIT
AEROPLANE DELAYED PILOT'S PROBLEM SOLVED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] BLENHEIM, Tuesday An unusual incident has occurred at Blenheim, where Mr. J. J. Busch, the Canterbury Aero Club's commercial pilot, was held up on account of bad weather with a cargo of 5501b. of whitebait. He was faced with the problem of deciding whether to sell his cargo on a limited market, already well stocked with the local article, or to rely on the prospects of the weather clearing in time to enable him to deliver his consignment in Christchurch in good condition. Mr. Busch left Karamea yesterday on the second of a series of flights with whitebait to Christchurch, but bad weather necessitated a landing at Blenheim. To-day, though the weather in Blenheim is fine, the conditions to the south precluded a flight to Christchurch, while Wellington was also unworkable by aircraft. The problem was solved this afternoon, when the whitebait was shipped to Wellington by the steamer Tamahine.
