CHILD STRUCK BY VAN

RUNNING ACROSS ROAD CONDITION FAIRLY SERIOUS As a result of being struck by a van at the corner of Kirkdrive Road and Ascot Avenue, Mangere, at about 3.15 yesterday afternoon, Joan Robinson, aged five, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Robinson, of Ascot Avenue, suffered severe head injuries. After receiving medical attention she was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where her condition last night was fairly serious. The child was with a number of children at the time and was running across the roadway, when she was hit by the van.
