GAMBLE MAKING THE TRIP MEETING WITH GRAHAM DIRECT [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT 1 CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday Dp until Monday M. B. Edwards bail not decided whether to send Gamble to Wellington or not, but the owner, Mr. T. C. Butcher, has syiripatheticviews toward the Wellington trotting public and it was hip wish that the horse should start next Saturday Gamble may not have fulfilled all expectations when he finished second to Fern brook Lass On .Saturday, but it should be remembered the pick of the running wais all against him. Id the Bollard Memorial Gamble will receive 12yds from his four-year-old rival Graham Direct and the meeting of the pair should be an attraction in itself Gamble is likely to be the favourite, but Graham Direct is a very brilliant pacer. Both are slow beginner* and will be well back from the start Another good four-year-old in Grace McKlwyn will start oft the limit in the Bollard Handicap. Princess Onyx is likely to be a warm favourite for the treating events at Hutt Park on Saturday next and her racing at New Brighton on Saturday was full of promise. She ran a good second to Sister Mary in the Improvers' Handicap and her 3.33 for a mile and a-half on «?, track that was not very fast revealed good form Golden Bingen will represent the most solid opposition to Princess Onyx at Hutt Park Iraq was a starter at New Brighton on Saturday last and although he failed to run into a place his form was good enough to draw, attention to his prospects at Wellington. From 24 yards behind in i the Wellington Handicap his chances make n direct anneal.
