FRONTIER LEGION
VISIT OF FOUNDER PROGRAMME IN AUCKLAND The founder of the Legion of Frontiersmen, Captain Roger Pocock, who is at present in New Zealand in the course of a world tour to stimulate interest in the legion, will arrive in Auckland from Te Kuiti by the limited express to-morrow morning. He will be accompanied by Major J. C. Find later, of Hawera, commandant of the New Zealand division of the legion. On arrival in Auckland Captain Pocock will be met by Captain W. Palmer, officer commanding the Auckland squadron. A guard of honour provided by the squadron and commanded by Captain R. E. Taylor will be drawn up on the arrival platform at the Auckland railway station. A reception by Mr. B. Martin, deputy-mayor of Auckland, will follow at the Town Hall, after which the official party will proceed to the Cenotaph, where Captain Pocock will deposit a wreath. Captain Pocock will then be the guest of honour at a luncheon arranged by the Royal Empire Society at Mime and Chovce's Reception Hall. In the evening he will attend a dinner given at the Grand Hotel by officers of the Auckland squadron of the legion, and this will be followed by a reception at legion headquarters. The founder of the legion, who will be 70 years of age in November, will leave tor Sydney by the Wanganella on Saturday afternoon. He will visit Rabaul, Hongkong and Canada before returning to England.
