BOILERMAKERS' DISPUTE
UNION REJECTS PROPOSALS A hearing of the dispute between the Auckland Ironworkers' Association, ns employers, and the Auckland Boilermakers' Union, which sought a now agreement with the employers, was held before Mr. P. Hally, conciliation commissioner, yesterday. An agreement was reached regarding the hours of work and several machinery clauses. The employers made an offer of 2s an hour, with an additional penny an hour for ships' work actually done on vessels, and the union's representatives undertook, providing there was agreement on all tho machinery clauses, to refer tho offer of the employers to the union for consideration. At a meeting of the union last night it was decided to reject tho employers' proposals. Tho union's decision will be communicated to tho Conciliation Com-to-day, ,
