FORCES OF ITALY HEAVY CONCENTRATION abyssinians prepare MOUNTAIN SIDES MINED By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Received September 9, 11.45 p.m.) LONDON. Sept. 9 The News -.Chronicle's Addis Ababa correspondent says official telegrams announce that Italian troops are heavily concentrating at three points on the northern frontier. This is not alarming the Abyssinians, who believe the rains wiL prevent an attack for another three weeks. '
Ethiopian chiefs, fearing a shortage of ammunition, are mining the mountain iides in order to be able to precipitate thousands of tons of rock upon the invaders. The rocks also would block the passes. Other chiefs are guarding the precipitous paths to the magazines with suspended boulders, which can be put down upon the heads of assailants. The Daily Telegraph's Addis Ababa correspondent says the members of the Italian Legation are dismantling the furniture, plate and pictures and sending them to Jibouti.
