TRIPLE CELEBRATION
MR. AND MRS. J. MoGILL A golden wedding of considerable interest was celebrated by Mr. and Airs. J. AlcGill, of Hakanoa Street, Huntly, this week, with a largo family reunion. The occasion was a unique one in that it coincided with the silver wedding celebrations of their eldest daughter, Airs. J. O'Brien, of Huntly, and the wedding of their youngest daughter, Janet, to Air. Ernest Harden Powell, of To Kauwhata. Air. and Airs. AlcGill were married in Greymouth in 1885 and after living for 24 years in various parts of the West Coast they came north and settled in Huntly, where they have resided ever since. A reception, which combined the three events, was held in the Huntly Parish Hall in the afternoon, the tables being adorned with three wedding cakes. The pretty golden wedding cake was a present to Airs. AlcGill from her two niches, Airs. T. Luttrell and Airs. W. Pearce, both of Sydney, who had specially arranged to bo present, and who brought the cake with them. The guests were received by Airs. AlcGill, Avearing a frock of black ring velvet and beige lace, with hat to match. She carried a posy of marigolds and freesias. Airs. J. O'Brien, wore a frock of black silk maroCain and beige lace with black chenille velvet coat and black hat, and she carried a posy of spring flowers. Airs. L. G. Powell, the bridegroom's mother, of To Kauwhata, wore a frock of navy delustred marocain and lace and black hat. She darned a posy of spring flowers. In the evening about 250 guests were entertained at a social evening in the Parish Hall
