HARBOUR RECEIPTS
INCREASE MAINTAINED EXCESS OVER ESTIMATES FIGURES FOR ELEVEN MONTHS Considerable increases in the cash receipts from the Waitematn Harbour for August and for the 11-monthly period wore reported by the treasurer and accountant, Mr. C. F Garratt., nt a meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board held yesterday. Last month the cash receipts amounted to £25.200, ari increase of £IOSO, compared with August, 19M4. The total tor the 11 months to datp was £3:12,911, tin increase of .0127.620 over the amount for the corresponding period of the previous year. "The estimated receipts for the I! months are exceeded by £31,155, assuming 11-l'iths of the annual revenue to be receivable in the period," stated Mr. Garratt. "It is not at all likely that this satisfactory position will be prejudiced by, the September returns." During the 11 months the principal incrpasps wuro in import goods 'wharfage (£14.442), crane dues (£7854). ypntn (£2229), dock and slipways !(£2109), storage on goods (£1604), shipping and water-supply charges, in both of which reduction!) have • been made, decreased by £ll2l and £B7O respectively The revenue from export goods wharfage declined £393. In August the cash receipts from Hip Manukan Harbour showed an improvement oi : £7O. making a total increase of £'469 lor the 11 months. Th*> board decided to restore to the traffic stall: the deduction of 10 per made in the overtime rate of pay. The restoration will take effect aa from tlio beginning of this month.
