MURDER CHARGE
MUSICIAN IN COURT THE DEATH OF MRS. MAREO POLICE OBTAIN REMAND EARLY HEARING POSSIBLE Described as a native of Australia. Lric Marco, musician, aged 41, appeared before Mr. If. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, on a charge <if murdering Ins wifo, Thelma Clarice Marco, at Auckland on April 15. Accused was arrested in a city apartment on Monday by Detective-Sergeant A. B. Meiklejohn and Detective It. J. Hamilton, who were assigned to the investigation after the inqijcit concerning Mrs. MareoV death was opened on April 16. Senior-Defective Hall appeared for Ithe police at the brief proceedings in ithe Court yesterday, and Mr. Aekins represented accused The Court was tfoirly well filled by the public. Mareo carried with him into the dock several nheets of music. "" Mr. Hall requested that accused übould be remanded until September 11, find counsel said he had no objection to the application. The romand was granted. It is understood that it is the inteniion of the police to apply for an early fixture for the hearing of the evidence for the prosecution in the Police Court. There is a possibility of the proceedings taking place this month.
