WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
TROTTING MEETING REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY A wide variety of interesting sporting attractions has been arranged for the week-end. The principal event will be the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park. Large fields have been entered in most of the events, and keen sport may be expected.
Considerable interest will bo taken in the representative Rugby match to be played between Auckland and Hawke's Bay on the No. 1 ground at Eden Park at 3 p.m. A number of games in the Jubilee Trophy com petition also will be held. Hockey enthusiasts will bo well catered for. In addition to a New Zealand Challenge Shield match between Auckland and Waikato representative teams, there will be other representative games. League interest will centre in the semi-finals of the Roopo Rooster competition to be played at Carlaw Park. Richmond will meet Mount Albert on the No. 1 ground at 3 p.m. and City will play Newton on the No. 1 ground at 1.30 p.m. There will bo a match between Marist and Devonport on the No. 2 ground at 3 p.m. Thistle will meet Y.M.C.A." in the senior grade Sc-ccer competition at Blandforr! Park at 3 p.m., while the final in the secondary schools Skerrett Cup competition will be played between Auckland and Wellington at Blandford Park at 1.15 p.m. Two qualifying rounds in the junior championship and the nursery handicap will be played at the Auckland Golf Club's links. A junior match play competition and a bogey handicap has been arranged at the Maungakiekie Club, while competitions will be held at most of the ether links. The principal harrier event this afternoon will he the Savidan Cup race from Pakuranga to Ellerslie. A number of cycle races also have been arranged.
