WATCHMAN'S DEATH

THREE MEN CONVICTED LONG TERMS IN GAOL PERTH, Aug. 30 On the charge of murdering Edgar Whitfield, 1 night watchman in a jewellery store in Perth, which was robbed of £4927 worth of stock in February last, three men, Matthew Walsh, Stanley Flynn and Cyril Brennar, were found guilty of manslaughter tc-day. A fourth, Charles Silverman, was found not guilty. Walsh and Flynn were sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard labour, and Brennan to 10 years' imprisonment. Silverman was afterwards rearrested on a charge of having received stolen goods.
