SECOND DAY'S PROGRAMME TARANAKI HUr\T CUP FIELD OF TWELVE ENGAGED The second day of the combined race meeting of the Taranaki and EgmontWanganui Hunt Clubs takqp place at New Plymouth to-day, the principal event being the Taranaki Hunt Cup, for which there are twelve acceptors. Tho betting system is win and place. Telegraphing last evening our New Plymouth correspondent stated that the weather was now fine and the going would be considerably improved, but would still be on tho soft side. A change has been made in the order of races, and the Ladies' Necklace will now be the first event. The following horses may bo well supported: Ladies' Necklace.—Petrarch, Silk Sox.

Howan's horses, Tonnorre and Musqiiil, are to compete at the Taranaki Hunt meeting to-day, and they were railed from Te Awamutu to New Plymouth on Thursday evening. Tonnerre registered two wins and a second in three starts last season, and should have a good chance of opening his three-year-old career successfully when ho appears among the hack sprinters to-day.
