WELLINGTON APPOINTMENT HOSPITAL BOARD'S POLICY £bt TELEGRAPH— PRESS association] YtfELLINGTOX, Friday Its future policy in regard to tuberculosis was defined by the Wellington Hospital Board when it adopted resolutions invplving the appointment of a full-time non-resident tuberculosis officer ftt a salary of £IOOO per annum with annual increments of £SO to a maximum of £1250, applications for the position to be sought throughout New Zealand and in the main Australian cities.Other decisions are that the dispensary system should be extended in Wellington and that other centres within the board's district should ba opened for certain hours during the week; that the free dispensary service bo available to all, irrespective of domicile; and that a complete record system for follow-up work should be established which would include the expansion of the contact system, particularly in regard to those who have come into contact with patients suffering from the open disease. This is particularly important. i:n respect of those between the ages of 10 and 25 years. It was also decided that the co-opera-tion of the board's social welfare officers and other approved qualified district nurses be sought in connection with the domiciliary aspect of the problem.
