The Hon. R. McCallum, M.L.C., i* 1 visiting Hamilton. Mr. J. Fletcher was a passenger from Wellington by yesterday morning's train. Brooke, commander of H.M.S. Philomel, returned from the South yesterday. Major H. S. N. Robinson, secretary of the Melanesian Mission, arrived from the South yesterday. Mr. W. H. Cocker, a member of the Broadcasting Board, returned from Wellington yesterday. Mr. F. M. Waters, chairman of the Manukau County Council, returned from Wellington yesterday. Mr. G. W. Hutchison left last evening on a business visit to Dunedin. He will return to Auckland on Thursday. Mr. J. Muggeridge, Government entomologist at Palmerston North, who has been visiting Auckland, will leavefor Rotorua to-day. The Hon. Eliot R. Dayis, the Hon. T. Bloodworth and the Hon. J. Alexanl der, M.L.C.'s, returned yesterday morn, ing from Wellington. Mr. W. H. Siin was yesterday admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Smith, on the motion of Mr. W. P. Baker. Mr. Sim is a nephew of the late Mr. Justice Sim. Mr. _ Arthur Walker, who for some \ears has been advertising manager in New Zealand for Gordon and Gotch Limited, has resigned that position, and will leave early next month for Sydney to take up a new appointment. Dr. Sydney A. Smith, dean of the faculty of medicine and regius professor of forensic medicine at Edinburgh University, arrived from the South yesterday morning after visiting various parts of the Dominion. Dr.' Smith, who is accompanied by Mrs. Smith, will leave by the Aorangi on Monday for Australia, where he will attend the annual conference of the British Medical Association. He is at the Hotel Cargen.
