PACIFISTS

Sir,—lt is a great pity that the vapourings of certain youtns in Otago have been given so much publicity, and also a pity that the Minister of Defence did not consign their letters to the waste-paper basket without any comment. 1< ortunately, should the occasion arise, there" are sufficient young men with red blood in their veins who will be prepared to defend their country and dear ones from an aggressive enemy, so we can very well do without- these others, and regard their ideas with pity rather than anger. W.M.
