MOUNT EDEN SCHOOL

Parts of the Mount Eden school buildings were more than 80 years old, said Mr. G. E. Spooner at a meeting of the Auckland Education Board on Wednesday, when a letter was received from the committee stating that it disagreed with tho inspection report that "the buildings generally arc in good order, while the classrooms aro clean and attractive," and that it considered, the buildings should be replaced. Mr. Spooner said Mount Eden had been third on the list for replacement 15 years ago. The chairman, Mr. T. U. Wells, said the position at Mount Eden was still not as urgent as in several other schools awaiting new buildings.
