AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The second semi-final of the Auckland provincial amateur billiards championship for tho Billiards Limited Shield wan played nt Messrs. Billiards. Limited, showrooms last evening, when M. D. AVhito. the holder, bent K. W. Warren. Features of tho game were the excellent display by Warren during the opening stages of the Rome, and the fine recovery staged by White. The final scores were:—M. D. White. 500 (breaks of 34. 34. 48, 48, 27. 37. 30, 37 and 20); W. F,. Wnrren, 332 (breaks of 41. S7. 2fi and 33). In the first semi-final the scores were:— F. Holdsworth, 500; W. Hacketts'344. White will meet Holdsworth in the final this evening.
