WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION

A PLEASANT LONDON PARTY [from ouh own coktikspondknt] LONDON. July 13 Very pleasant and well-attended was the afternoon reception at Grosvenor House two days ago, arranged by tho New Zealand Women's Association. The members were able to ask their husbands and men friends, and this privilege wan appreciated, both by the women and by the men. Tho suggestion that there should be one annual reception when men could be invited, was made and unanimously passed at the annual meeting last year. Lady Wilford and Mrs. C. J. Wray received tiie 150 guosts, among whom were Viscount and Viscountess Bledisloe, the Countess of Hardwicke, and many visitors from various parts of the Dominion. The Jit. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates were present for a short time. Members of tho committee included Miss V. Russell, Mrs. E. S. Harston, Airs. L. Levien, Mrs. H. T. B. Drew and Miss S. Murray. Lady Bledisloe, entirely in rose petal pink, was looking more rested. Lord Bledisloe, too, is much better in health than he was, but lie continues to feel somewhat fatigued. He has been, and still is, in much request at public gatherings and he has recently engaged in a, good deal of travel. The Countess of Liverpool retains a special affection for New Zealand and New Zealanders, and she always meets many friends at these parties. She wore floral chiffon in black and light blue, with a large shady hat of black wreatned with feathers of saxe blue. Lady Hardwicke, whose mother, Mrs. Russell, of Auckland, recently died in London, was in black and white. Lady Godley, not long since back from the Dominion, knows many of its residents, and is interested always to meet any who comes to London.
