QUEEN CARNIVAL

FUNCTION AT HAMILTON A scene of gaiety was presented at the Regent Ballroom on Saturday evening, the occasion being the concluding dance of the Hamilton Rugby Union Queen Carnival. The ballroom was attractively decorated with multi-col-oured streamers, while latticed frameworks covered with green foliage and scarlet flowers formed an artistic scheme of decoration for the orchestral dais. The Hamilton East queen, Mis§ Zoe Faville, wore a frock of crushed strawberry angelskin lace. The maids of honour were:—Miss I. Sargent, in apple green flowered chiffon and lame; Miss G. Faville, cherry spotted net; Miss H. Stewart (Te Kowhai), pale pink georgette; Miss M. Marwood (Te Kowhai), apple green frilled faille. The Frankton queen. Miss K. Green, wore a frock of periwinkle blue souple satin. Her maids of honour were:— Miss T. Maguire, who wore apple green chiffon; Miss P. Jerrome, ciei blue and pink frilled organdie; Miss G. Foster, ivory embossed chenille velvet; Miss M. Green, sunset pink matelasse and lame. The Hamilton queen, Miss M. Langley, wore a frock of apple green quilted taffeta. Her maids of honour were:— Mrs. A. Fowler, who wore a jade green and black tunic frock; Miss M. Campbell, black chiffon velvet and gold lame; Miss J. Campbell, black chiffon velvet and gold lame. The committees were as follows: — Hamilton East: Mrs. J. F. Smith, Mrs. L. W. Faville, Miss Elliott, Miss E. Kelly, Miss B. Wright. Frankton: Mrs. A. W. Green. Mrs. A. J. Denz, Mrs. F.
