WRITERS' CLUB
A talk upon the League of Nations was given to the Writers' Club on Friday by Miss E. Newton. In 15 short years, she said, the league, in settling •30 disputes, had done a great work, but of ever greater importance was the work done by its committee. Mrs. Eileen Johnston followed with a brief outline of the various ways in which it was considered possible for the league to intervene in tho ItaloAbyssinian dispute and prevent it from developing into war. Both speakers emphasised the need for membership of the League of Nations Union as a means of supporting the lengue. Solos were rendered by Mrs. M. Moller.
