She commenced her turf career as a two-year-old, and in six seasons contested 125 races for 20 wins and 31 plaeings and £254] in stakes. WANGANUI TRACK WORK SPRINT BY LADY HOARIRI [by telegraph—own correspondent] WANGANUI. Sunday Some interesting work was performed | at Wanganui yesterday by horses who ; are engaged at the coming Marton and Wanganui meetings. The course proper, with the flags about 14ft. out from the rails, was used, the going being heavy after rain. The two-year-old fillies Moquette (Limond —Motley) and Imposture (Pasiterity—lmpetuous), the latter ridden by her trainer, W. Rayner. ran two furlongs in 25 J-os. Moquette held a slight advantage at tho finish, but Imposture was going well within herself, and both pleased, Rayner's other two-year-old .filly Ithaca (Lvsander — Leta), haw developed lameness in a foreleg and is be:ng given a let-Up. Tupeotu and Abracadabra went together over half a mile in a tick under 555, without being unduly pressed. Tupeotu is the Potoa —Merry Jest gelding in W H. Dwyer's stable, and Abracadabra is Mr. L. G. Paul's Lackham —Adorable f lJy. Both will probably contest the Maiden Race at Wanganui next , ! nonth. Rust (W. Rayner) ran the last four of five furlongs in 54 2-ss, finishing well. Corowa, a half-brother to Gold Gleam;, sprinted two furlongs in 275. Madamoiselle Quex, the Lord Quex — Vaux mare in F. Lmd's stable, and the Posterity—Episode gelding Entail (W. ftayner), ran half a mile in 56 2-ss. Entail is the only candidate Mr. Ourrie now has engaged in the Wanganui Guineas, but he is not quite as forward as could 1>? desired. Perhaps the best, gallop of the morning was that for which Lady Hoariri was responsible. Heavy showers had fallen after the other horses had worked, and the Hoariri filly had to do - her task on her own, yet she ran three furlongs in 395, revelling in the conditions. She is to race at the hunt races at New Plymouth.
