FIRE BRIGADE SERVICE

HONOURS AT NORTHCOTE Tlio presentation of an honorary surgeon's silver bar, denoting seven years' service in that capacity, was made to Dr. It. G. Dudding by tho Northcoto Volunteer Fire Brigade on Saturday evening. Two years' service bars were also presented to Driver George Hart, who lias completed 17 years' service; to Foreman A. J. A. Hurley, with 11 years' service; and to Deputy-Foreman W. F. Ward, Fireman W. Wliitcombe, and Secretary A. H. liradbaurne, each of whom has completed nine years' service. In making the presentations at the 27 th anniversary social, tho Mayor, Mr. It. Martin, said the recent issue had completed tho equipment of the brigade with smart uniforms. Fortunately, the district had been immune from any serious lire for some time. He thanked tho members o£ the brigade for their efficient service and congratulated the recipients of honours.
