POWER SUPPLY SOUGHT
TE KAWA WEST SETTLERS APPLICATION BEFORE BOARD [from our own* correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday A petition was received at to-day's meeting of the Te Awamutu ElectricPower Board from 20 settlers in tho Te Kawa West and Ngutanui districts asking the board to negotiate with tho Waitomo board for a transfer of territory to enable the Te Awamutu board to reticulate the area. The district is now regarded as an outer area of the Waitomo ,b° ar d's territory, and is not capable of being readily supplied by Waitomo, without its lines crossing the Te Awamutu board's territory, or, alternatively, traversing hilly unproductive country. During the discussion it was mentioned that the Waitomo board has already permitted supply to certain settlers in the neighbourhood. If the area referred to were placed under the Te Awamutu board's control, a payable load was almost certain from the outset. The chairman and manager were appointed to confer with tho Waitomo board.
